- Evangeline 'Evie' Nora Samson
Don't flip your pancake, I've got this...
There are people who do science, and there's Evie. Her parents joked that she came up with the scientific method as a toddler. She is an amazing generalist, and was featured in Nature three times in two separate fields before getting her PhD. She won the Vera Paulson Award for the State's Most Promising Female Scientist, despite being much more worthy for the general Fleiss Energy Award for Science (which went to the son of one of the board members). But Evie was never concerned -
There are more interesting problems to work on than politics- she is science through and through.
She has a sharp, dry wit. Although she is perfectly casual, social and friendly, she has a somewhat reductive emotional set. She solves
those somewhat trivial social problemswith a swift application of rationality, sometimes to her detriment.
Most notably, she found the scientific value in research which may have lead to the disaster that has befallen Metropolis. While she originally considered the politics as someone else's concern, she is utterly horrified to witness the carnage and destruction.
Evie's past intersects fatefully with the disaster that has befallen Metropolis. She is indirectly responsible for it, and would like to investigate the cause and perhaps fix it.
Evie has a great technical and problem-solving ability, but is not suited to the violent landscape of Metropolis. She also worries about her sister, Chloe.
